Well after some more studying I am now qualified in GP and Exercise Referral which means that I am now competent to work with clients with a variety of medical conditions, where their exercise programmes need to take into account both their medical condition and ongoing medication.
Physical activity and exercise is very important for all of us, providing many benefits that are not necessarily obvious from the outset. Exercise means you get hot and possibly sweaty and you end up with aches and a feeling of being tired, but at the end of the day, regular exercise provides many benefits that warrant this so called suffering. This does not have to be as painful as it sounds, it’s more an acknowledgement that to improve both our physical and mental wellbeing we have to go out of our comfort zone and for a lot of people that is just sitting on the sofa, therefore, just taking a trip up the stairs is considered uncomfortable for them.
Suffering from various medical conditions shouldn’t meant that you are excluded from the benefits of regular exercise and in fact, the use of physical activity and exercise programmes can provide benefits that in the long term will make you feel better as a person and also with regard to your daily activities.
